<Crow> I'm still not sensing danger...

Truly one for the ages.

This ranks up high on my best MST3K episodes ever list..
It's high on my "This movie is so stupid I could watch it and laugh without Mike + Bots" list.
The movie is so poorly made it's laughable. A must get.

Why's the title for this movie always listed as "Puma Man"? The credits call it "The Pumaman."

Remember when you where a little kid and you played pretend super hero with your friend? Remember how you would keep thinking of more outragious powers in a cold-war style conflict to make your superhero more powerful than your friends, so that it degenerated into total absurdity? Well, this is pretty much what happened with PumaMan.

Oh sure it starts of innocently enough, like a Puma he can see in the dark, recover from falls, "sense danger" (he couldn't sense a brick wall even after he slammed into it), but soon they just tack on pure sillyness. He can teleport, he can astrally project, he can fly, he even has the Puma-die ability to temporarily stop his life functions.

Yet despite being insanely overpowered, he's still a total wuss who always has the non-super powered sidekick coming to his rescue. He's wimpier as a "god" than he was as a student/archaeologist/thing.

Did you like the Aztec Shaman? You can find him in a very short role in the Pilot episode of the A-Team!

DeltaJM Posted: 2005-03-17 23:08:40
and he had a bit part in THE MEXICAN , as one of the three guys that beats Brad Pitt up..( I can't recall why though?)

Pretty good. Great jokes, and the host segments are funny. I like all the cheezy music, and when servo keeps going "wakachicka". Or when all three start singing to the songs.

Puma Man is as pathetic as Space Chief, if not even more.

One of the best episodes IMO Great riffing through out, really campy host segments, and a wonderfully good bad movie. Classic MST. Works great as a sedative too!!

Donald Pleasance stars in Puma Man, truly the worst superhero movie ever made. And, yes, that is including Batman & Robin, Steel, Superman 3 & 4, Catwoman, Hulk, and any other previous MST3K movie. Don't believe me? Just watch.

Puma Man is about an obnoxious paleontologist/archaeologist/whatever who becomes a terribly mediocre superhero named Puma Man and tries to stop leather-clad Donald Pleasance from using a mind-controlling Aztec mask to take over the world, meanwhile saving his very stupid girlfriend from Donald's evil clutches.

This movie is poorly written and very silly. Our hero, Puma Man, despite being extremely overpowered, is a whiny wimp, and he flies in the air by flailing his arms and legs like a moron. Luckily, Mike, Crow, and Servo bring this movie to justice, making it one of the better episodes of the Sci-fi era.

Yeah he was in //THE MEXICAN//, I gasped really loud when I saw him, and since none of my friends are MSTies, they just kinda looked at me strange, but it just made me enjoy The Mexican a lot more.

"Blameshifter!"

One of the more enjoyable episodes of season 9. The audio here, however, is full of clicks, pops, sudden volume fluctuations, and micro-dropouts - almost like trying to watch it while defragging a hard drive. Unfortunate.
